For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you. (1 Corinthians 9:19-23)
//Its very easy for us to loose site on who we are really serving. Even thou we surrender our lives to Christ, we are still serving him. But serving him how you ask. Well one way is “Bringing people to LIFE through the gospel of Jesus Christ”. Yeah that is the motto of Calvary Kendall, but it should be everyone’s motto for everyday of our lives that we serve Him here on earth. Just like someone has pored into you, to take the steps you did in surrendering your life to Christ. The same we have to do to others, but we have to learn that each person is not the same. Warren Wiersbe said it best “It takes tact to have contact.”
One of the tactics is that we have to pastor everyone. Pastor everyone? What do you mean? well one thing we have to consider is that the preaching doesn’t start at the pulpit. In ministry from the parking attendant to the usher we all have to be loving to everyone we encounter. Even thou we are not all pastors in the sense of a title, but we are when we are reach out to people on a daily bases. You never know if that one person that you encountered was on the road to complete devastation. Just because you showed compassion on to them they realized that there is something better. I have seen and heard the stories of just one person reaching out to someone that was on the road to disaster and their lives were turned completely around.
So let us remember that yes we are serving Jesus, but he wants us to serve all men so that they may also know who Jesus is.
